Group Finder – queue eye (new)
- If you've joined the random queue, a small eye now appears in the top-right corner of every forum page, searching back and forth just like the real WoW Dungeon Finder. Click it to jump straight back to the Group Finder.

═══════════════════════

── September 4, 2026 ──

Mobile Navigation (new)
- On phones, there's now a menu icon in the top-left that shows all the top-bar functions (Loot History, Guild Control Panel, Raid Calendar, Group Finder, World Buffs, My Characters, Login/Logout) as a clean, easy-to-tap list - previously not all of these were visible or usable on narrow screens.

PvP Rank & Class Colors (new)
- On "My Characters", a new column shows each character's real PvP rank (from the automatic Armory sync), and character names now show in their class color with a real portrait.
- In the Group Finder, creating/applying/editing now lets you pick a saved character from "My Characters" directly (with class icon, portrait and class color) instead of typing name/level/class manually.

═══════════════════════

── September 3, 2026 ──

My Characters (new)
- New "My Characters" menu item at the top: your own private list of characters (main + twinks/alts) with name, realm, class, specialization and level.
- A "Sync with Armory" click checks the entered level against the real Blizzard character and flags it if it's out of date.
- Character names in the list are clickable and open the character's real Blizzard Armory page in a new tab.
- The Armory check now also runs automatically in the background (several times a day, plus Wednesdays at 8am) - no longer just on manual click.

═══════════════════════

── August 31, 2026 ──

Guilds – self-service (new)
- Anyone can now create a new guild themselves, no admin needed - previously this only happened on request.
- The "Gilden-Kontrollzentrum" link in the top menu is now visible to every logged-in user (previously only guild masters/officers) and automatically leads to the right view: creating a new guild, managing your own membership (including leaving), or - for guild masters/officers as before - the full control panel.

═══════════════════════

── August 29, 2026 ──

Avatars – real Blizzard portrait (new)
- Your forum avatar is now set automatically from the character name and realm in your profile: if you're found on the real Blizzard Armory, you get your actual character portrait.
- If no matching character is found, a default portrait matching your race, class and gender (level 1-59) is used instead.
- There's no manual option for this anymore - the sync runs automatically for every account in the background.

PvP Ranks – automatic sync (new)
- The special rank title shown under your name (e.g. "Grand Marshal" / "High Warlord") is now set automatically from your real PvP rank on the Blizzard Armory, instead of being assigned manually.

═══════════════════════

── August 23, 2026 ──

World Buffs (new)
- New "World Buffs" menu item at the top: replaces the old external spreadsheet.
- Calendar for the next 14 days: for each day and world buff (Rallying Cry of the Dragonslayer, Warchief's Blessing, Spirit of Zandalar, Songflower Serenade) you can sign up who's bringing it and at what time.
- A signup is tied to your own account - only you or an admin can cancel it, nobody can accidentally overwrite it.
- Several people can sign up for the same buff on the same day, as long as their time windows don't overlap the buff's actual duration (checked automatically).
- If an admin cancels someone else's signup, that player is automatically notified.

═══════════════════════

── August 18, 2026 ──

Group Finder (new)
- New "Group Finder" menu item at the top: server-wide but faction-locked pickup groups for dungeons and raids.
- Anyone can create a group listing (dungeon/raid, desired tank/healer/DPS slots, optional note) and apply to several different groups at once with different characters - up to 4 own open groups at a time.
- The group leader accepts or declines applications; both sides get notified instantly, no page reload needed - a small notice pops up in the bottom right corner while the forum page is open.
- For dungeons, the role slots are pre-filled with a sensible default (1 tank/1 healer/3 DPS); for raids this is left blank on purpose since composition varies by guild - both stay freely editable.
- Group leaders can ignore individual players or entire guilds for their own listings (applications get auto-declined).
- Same as the raid calendar: guild groups are locked to the creator's own faction, and only visible to that faction too.

Group Finder – random queue (new)
- New "Random Queue" button in the Group Finder: just join, and you'll be automatically matched with other waiting players into a full group for a random dungeon that fits your level.
- If you picked more than one role, one of them gets assigned at random once a group is found; a leader is also picked automatically (preferring volunteers, otherwise at random).
- The leader gets a ready-made invite macro right on the page to copy, letting them invite every other member in-game with one paste.
- While still waiting, you're notified automatically as soon as a group is found - including a sound and an automatic redirect to the finished group page.

Group Finder – notification sounds
- The random queue now has two of its own, separately configurable sounds: one for joining the queue, one for when a group is found - in addition to the existing sound for applications/replies.
- Admins can adjust pitch/tone for all three sounds in the ACP (PBWoW -> Configuration), or upload a custom audio file instead.

Group Finder – further improvements
- New "new" icon in the top nav next to "Group Finder" whenever there's an unread notification (same as the raid calendar).
- The filter bar (dungeon/raid selector, "show closed") is now bigger and easier to read.
- Fixed: the "Cancel search" and "Back to overview" buttons were different sizes.

── August 16, 2026 ──

Posts – emoji reactions
- The "Like" star has been replaced with real emoji reactions (Discord-style): the "+" button under each post opens a large searchable emoji picker.
- Several different reactions on the same post are possible, each toggled independently.
- Hover over a reaction to see who added it.
- Existing likes were automatically carried over into the new system.

Raid Calendar – notification
- When a raid leader or guild management newly adds you to an event, you now automatically get a private message with a link to it.
- Until you've viewed a new entry, a notice icon appears next to "Raid-Kalender" in the top bar (the same "new" icon used for unread posts). It disappears once you open the event.
- Only a fresh addition by someone else triggers this - signing yourself up works exactly as before, no notification.

Raid Calendar – limit & settings
- Everyone can now have at most 4 upcoming events created at once.
- New in your settings (User Control Panel → Preferences → Edit global settings): you can choose whether to receive calendar invite PMs, and whether raid leaders/guild management may add you to events directly without asking first.
- Bugfix: For server-wide events, players could previously be added directly across factions (e.g. an Alliance player to an event created by a Horde player). Direct-add now respects the organizer's faction for server-wide events too - visibility and self-signup remain open to everyone as before.

Loot History
- Bugfix: The realm stored in a profile (e.g. "Everlook") sometimes showed as the wrong realm (e.g. "Lakeshire") in the member list and loot matching. This caused the loot filter to find nothing when clicking a member, and the automatic loot import to leave some wins unlinked to an account. Already-imported entries were retroactively re-matched.

── August 15, 2026 ──

Posts – "Like"
- New: Posts can now be liked (star icon next to the post tools). One click, no page reload needed; hover to see who liked the post.
- You can't like your own post.

═══════════════════════

── August 14, 2026 ──

Raid Calendar – faction lock
- Guild raids are now automatically locked to the creator's own faction: Alliance players won't see Horde raids and vice versa (server-wide events stay visible to everyone).
- Both visibility and manually adding players respect this separation.

Raid Calendar – character name
- New optional field when signing up: character name, handy for anyone bringing a twink/alt to the raid. Shown alongside the forum username in the roster.

Posts
- New: [table] formatting for real tables in posts (with header rows).

Class forums
- New beginner guides for all 9 classes (talents, leveling, PvE/PvP tips), each pinned in its matching class forum.

Professions forum
- New "Who can craft what?" overviews for Horde and Alliance, listing every guild's special recipes in a clear table.

Newcomers forum
- New post with recommended WoW Classic addons, sorted by purpose (raid, leveling, PvP, trading).

Misc
- Fixed a bug where guests without an account were shown the wrong default style ("Horde") instead of "WoW Classic".

═══════════════════════

── August 13, 2026 ──

Raid Calendar – further improvements
- Calendar search now also finds events by the organizer's name (the organizer is now also shown in the month overview and in search results).
- Raid leaders and guild management can now remove a player directly from an event.
- Fixed a bug where setting raid size to 0 (= unlimited) showed nothing at all and looked broken – it now clearly shows "unlimited".
- When signing up, the role (Tank/Healer/Melee/Ranged) is now automatically pre-filled based on the chosen specialization, while staying freely editable at any time.

Profile
- Specialization is now a required field at registration, just like class, but can always be changed afterwards in your profile.

Raid Calendar – add & invite players
- Raid leaders and guild management can now add players to an event directly from the event page – either picked from the guild roster or by username (also works for server-wide events).
- When a new player is added, their class and specialization are automatically taken from their profile.
- Raid leaders and guild management can now also send players a direct invitation via private message.

Raid Calendar – search, filters & signup rules
- New search and filter options in the calendar overview: search by title or player name (wildcard * supported), plus filters to hide resets, PvP weekends and past events, or to show only your guild's events.
- New signup rule: you can be signed up as "Tentative" for at most 10 events at once, and can no longer be firmly "Accepted" for two overlapping events at the same time.
- Fixed a bug where quick-accepting without making a selection could incorrectly default to "Death Knight".
- Corrected the reference data for the 20-player reset cycle (Zul'Gurub / AQ20).

Profile
- New profile field Specialization, matching your selected class.

New forums
- New: Newcomers – for questions from new players to experienced ones.
- New: Group Finder – to find other players for activities and instances.

Wowhead News Bot (new)
- The Announcements forum now automatically gets a post from a bot whenever a new Classic-relevant news article appears on Wowhead – including source credit and a link to the original article.

Forum Rules
- Added: offering or looking for boosting services that violate Blizzard's Terms of Service is not allowed here on the forum either.

Multi-language support
- Forum names, breadcrumbs and the site description now automatically match your account language instead of always showing both languages.

Profile / Posts
- Your guild name is now shown under the rank title on posts and on your profile (format <>), except for admin accounts.

Misc
- Rewrote the welcome post with an overview of the main features and direct links.
- The forum is now also reachable at wowforever.forum in the meantime (identical content).

Guild Control Panel (new)
- Guild masters and officers can now manage their guild through a dedicated control panel: members, join requests and raid events all in one place.

Raid Calendar – complete overhaul
- New, clearer event design: title, description, organizer, signup count, and date/time including a relative time display ("in 3 hours" / "2 days ago").
- Four statuses instead of two: Accepted, Tentative, Bench and Declined.
- Participants are now grouped by class, each with a class and specialization icon.
- Every player now chooses which class and specialization they're bringing themselves – handy for anyone with multiple characters.
- Raid leaders and guild management can click any participant's name right on the event page to change their status, class, specialization and role.
- Fixed the calendar's reference data: the weekly raid reset is now correctly shown on Wednesday (previously incorrectly Tuesday), and the PvP weekend and Onyxia reset now match the real server schedule.
- "Target size" has been renamed to "Raid size".
- Signups can now be imported directly from softres.it.

Posts
- Fixed the display order under the name on posts and profiles: PvP rank title now sits above the name, guild name below.
- New post formatting: [item=ID]Name[/item] and [spell=ID]Name[/spell] link to Wowhead with a hover tooltip preview, [youtube]Video ID[/youtube] embeds a directly playable YouTube video.

═══════════════════════

── August 12, 2026 ──

Loot History (new)
- New Loot History feature, accessible from the top navigation bar. Guilds can use it to make their loot distribution from LootReserve raids visible — publicly or members-only.
- Guilds can upload their loot logs; entries show date, item (with a Wowhead tooltip preview on hover), winner, and how it was awarded (Reserved / Raid Roll / Disenchanted).
- New Members page per guild: shows all registered members with their role (Applicant, Member, Officer, Raid Leader, Guild Master).
- New My Guild page: every account can set which guild they belong to and their role in it.

Profile
- New profile fields Character Name and Realm (German Classic Era servers). Needed so your loot wins get matched to your account automatically.

PvP Ranks
- The PvP rank title shown under your name now only displays the half matching your faction (e.g. just "High Warlord" for Horde characters instead of "Grand Marshal / High Warlord").
- Rank icons have been corrected to match the actual WoW Classic ranks.

General
- Fixed post timestamps to correctly account for daylight saving time.
